Firefighters were called to put out a Land Rover on fire on a residential street in Coventry. Crews rushed to Powell Road at around 7.30am on Wednesday (December 28).

A fire engine from Binley Fire Station was dispatched to the scene in Stoke Heath. Crews found a Land Rover Discovery alight and quickly tackled the blaze as there was a high risk of the fire spreading to nearby properties.

Crews reached the scene in less than five minutes which prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby fence and overhanging trees. A hose reel jet was used with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze, confirmed West Midlands Fire Service.

Thankfully, the vehicle was empty and nobody was injured. Crews remained at the scene for around 30 minutes to ensure the nearby vicinity was safe.
